Afro Music Lab

Studio tutorial

Everything you need to go from a rough bounce to a finished, competitive Afro fusion master.

1. Upload a mix

  1. Open the studio and go to the Mastering tab.
  2. Click Upload mix and pick a WAV, MP3 or AAC file (a stereo bounce of your full track works best).
  3. Your file is measured inside your browser — the audio itself is never uploaded.
  4. Press Analyse. Members get unlimited analyses; free accounts get 3 AI uses per day.

2. Read the mastering analysis

  1. Loudness (LUFS): how loud the track feels overall. Club Afro styles usually sit around -9 to -7 LUFS; streaming targets are near -14.
  2. True peak: the highest point of the waveform. Keep it below -1 dBTP to avoid distortion after conversion.
  3. Dynamics: the gap between loud and quiet moments. A very small number means the mix is over-compressed.
  4. Scores and targets show where you are versus where your genre usually lands.
  5. The mastering chain lists processors in order with settings — work through the prioritised actions from the top.

3. Use Reference match

  1. Open the Reference match tab and upload a released track you want to sound like.
  2. The studio renders 8 bars of your current blend for comparison.
  3. Press Compare & recommend to get a match score, per-area differences (low end, brightness, width, energy) and fixes.
  4. Section-by-section advice tells you how to rearrange intros, drops and breaks to follow the reference.

4. Generate a production roadmap

  1. In the Fusion recipe tab, find the Production roadmap card.
  2. Write a short brief: the target sound, mood, BPM range and the genres you want to lead.
  3. Generate to receive phases with tasks, instrumentation, transitions with bar counts and mix goals.
  4. Press Apply target blend to load the suggested genre balance straight into the console.

5. Find your work later

  1. Every analysis, match and roadmap is saved to your Producer dashboard.
  2. Need help? Send a support request from the dashboard and the reply shows up there.
